Charity Support

We have a long tradition of supporting charities at Christ Church CE. We aim to inspire courageous advocacy and instil our Christian Values in the whole Christ Church Family. This includes participating in, as well as organising, fundraising to benefit a wide range of causes, including locally, nationally and globally. Some of these include:

Cancer Research - In support of a staff who was battling cancer.

Mind Charity - Challenge the injustices faced by people who face mental health issues.

Islamic Relief Clothing Bank - School community donates clothes and shoes to Islamic relief.

Christian Aid - With the help of a grant from Christian Aid, a young girl was able to transform her fortunes in flood-hit Bangladesh.

Soccer UNICEF - June 2018, Christ Church raised £322 for Soccer Aid which could provide a water pump for a whole village or school in countries such as Swaziland. Soccer Aid is a well-known charity who help UNICEF to help more children than any other humanitarian organisation. They provide life-saving food, vaccines, clean water and protection from violence to millions of children around the world.

Water Aid - Provide worldwide safe water and sanitation.

Sparkhill Food Bank - Donated to the homeless in the local community.

BCM Harvest Collection (October 2020) - Donated to the homeless in the local community.

Samaritan’s Purse (October 2020) - Operation Christmas Child initiated by our EYFS. In the midst of a global pandemic, the lives of children and families have been turned upside down and the need is greater than ever before. By sending a shoebox gift with Operation Christmas Child, Christ Church children will be sharing God’s love and showing a child they are special and thought of.

Homelessness One (October 2020) - Initiated by our Year 4 Pupils in order to tackle the fight against homelessness in Birmingham. Homeless One® provides services to those who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

Save the Children (October 2020) - Whole school initiative.

Hope Not Hate (October 2020) - Year 6 fundraiser.

MiSP (October 2020) - Year 5 initiative to support mental health in schools.

QE Hospital Charity (October 2020) - Year 1 initiated a fundraiser after learning about Florence Nightingale.

Toilet Twinning (October 2020) - Year 3 fundraiser to help fund a project in a poor community that will enable families to build a basic toilet, have access to clean water and learn about hygiene.
