  • Christ Church Poetry Slam

    Tue 23 Jan 2024

In January, poet extraordinaire - Kurly came to Christ Church.  We are working on promoting our vision and values and Kurly got us thinking really hard about this through poetry.  Each class (in Key Stage 2) was given a poem, and with a dash of inspiration, confidence and teamwork, they created the most amazing performances.  We will hopefully share the audio of the performances soon.

Well done CC, another great day :-)

  • MEASLES

    Wed 10 Jan 2024

Parents and Friends of Christ Church,

Please be aware that a small number of children, at the school, have been told that they have measles and are off school.  We are taking ever action to keep our school

    and families safe.

There will be a MMR Vaccination clinic led by the Birmingham Public Health Team on Wednesday ay 1.30pm, at Christ Church School.

If you would like to be vaccinated and if your child needs vaccinating, please come along.

If you are experiencing any Measles related symptoms, DO NOT attend.

Here is a message from our local councillor, Mariam Khan.

She will talk about measles and the importance of the MMR vaccination.

REMEMBER, Measles can spread very easily, and it is important to pay special attention.

Everyone should look out for the signs and symptoms such as:

    •           high fever

    •           sore, red, and watery eyes

    •           coughing

    •           aching and feeling unwell

    •           a rash

If your child has any of these symptoms, please do not send them to school. Instead keep them at home and phone your doctor or ring NHS111 for advice. If you do need to take your child to see the GP or go to a clinic, please ring the doctor or clinic first, so they can make arrangements to prevent passing on measles to other people.

More information on measles and MMR is available here: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/measles/

  • Christmas Dates

    Mon 27 Nov 2023

A wonderfully fun and festive period is upon us, at Christ Church School and we want to celebrate.  Here are some key events to keep in mind:

Monday 11th December - Christmas Cantata at 9.15am.  It is the story of Jesus' birth through narration and song.  There is space for 30 parents to attend, so sign up via the office.

Wednesday 13th December - It is Christmas Jumper Day and the Christmas Fayre (from 1.30pm until 3.30pm).  There will be games, mendhi, food, drink, Santa's grotto and much much more.  Bring lots of money and enjoy an amazing afternoon.  Children will have lunch in school, then need to be collected at 1.15pm, from Braithwaite Road.  Look out for a letter with all the details.

Wednesday 20th December - Nativity play led by Year 1, Reception and Nursery.  This will be a spectacular retelling of how Jesus was born.

I am excited and I hope you are too!
