Nursery 2025 - 2026
This week, Nursery have been talking about Winter. They are developing their fine motor skills by scooping the ‘snow’ and talking about Artic Animals. They also cut winter clothing out and dressed a paper person. We also made gingerbread play dough, and we walked up and down the stairs to get water. Yad can now use alternative feet to go up and down the stairs - what an achievement!
This week, Nursery have been learning about Road Safety, as it is National Road Safety week. We made traffic light collage pictures. We played with a small world road safety scene and learnt that red means stop and green means go. We also made ‘ super kitten masks’ to help us become super kittens that know we need to Stop, Look, Listen and Think before we cross a road .
Nursery have been focusing in on Anti-bullying. They have been thinking about what makes us different and what makes us the same. They have decorated Odd Socks to celebrate diversity.
Nursery are learning about Remembrance Day. We developed our fine motor skills by using tweezers to manipulate red and black pom poms to decorate our poppies. We also used cotton buds/ paint and laces/ threading techniques.
Nursery have been learning all about the season of Autumn. We have chased the leaves, falling from the trees and then collected them to make our very own ‘Leaf Man’. As part of art week, we used leaf shape sponges to decorate our installation. We used pastels to create leaf rubbings to decorate our tree, with leaves and a range of natural resources to make our leaf men. We love our new 3D Art collage 😁
This week, Nursery have been learning about people that help us. They worked together to make their own fire engine and police car. They had hours of fun and learning: developing their own story lines; using the walkie talkies; using different paint techniques and talking about shapes. How exciting ❤️
Nursery are loving their Talk for Writing Unit - The Little Red Hen. They have made some delicious bread.
Nursery are settling in to their surroundings.
