PSHE Curriculum
PSHE at Christ Church
At Christ Church, we value the PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education) and
RHE (Relationship Health Education) curriculum.
We believe that this subject teaches our children how to thrive now and in the future. It supports them to understand key issues that are happening, how to take care of themselves and how to handle their feelings.
It is also closely linked to our vision and values.
PSHE is taught through the 3D PSHE. Pupils develop the knowledge, skills and attributes needed in order to keep themselves healthy and safe, whilst preparing them for life and work.
There are three underlying core themes taught throughout 3D PSHE, within which there is broad overlap and flexibility:
1. Health and Wellbeing
2. Relationships
3. Living in the Wider World
Pupils are encouraged to participate in a wide variety of activities, enabling them to make significant contributions to both life in school and within the wider community. This allows them to become aware of their skills and talents, develop their self-worth, learn to work as part of a team and take greater responsibility for their own learning. In doing so, they are able to reflect and evaluate on how they are making progress.

HappyMinds Programme
To strengthen our PSHE curriculum, we have introduced the HappyMinds Curriculum.
My Happymind is a whole school programme grounded in Science and dedicated to building positive mental
wellbeing. My Happymind helps children understand how their brains work and creates a culture that
helps to build children's resilience, confidence and self-esteem. MyHappymind also teaches the
children how to self-regulate and manage their emotions in stressful times, allowing them to be their
very best selves!
