  • International Mother Language Day

    Thu 13 Mar 2025

Did you know that languages are essential to education and sustainable development, serving as the primary means through which knowledge is transferred and cultures are preserved?

With approximately 8,324 languages in the world today, many are at risk of disappearing due to globalisation and societal changes.

Ensuring that education systems support the right to learn in one's mother tongue is crucial for improving learning outcomes, as students who are taught in a language they fully understand show better comprehension, engagement and critical thinking skills.

At Christ Church, we are proud of the fact that we have at least 15 different languages in our school, and to celebrate International Mother Language Day, we are sharing a video of different families, children, teachers and community leaders saying hello.

You can find the video under our curriculum tab > then, go to School of Sanctuary.

This competition is open to children from Reception to Year 6.

There will be two winners from Reception, KS1 and KS2.

The closing date for bringing in your book in a box is Monday 24th March.

They will be judged by our Chair of Governors - Toby Crowe

    Prizes
