  • Courageous Advocacy in Action

    Thu 23 Oct 2025

Today, we were able to handover our harvest contributions to the Sparkhill Food Bank.

We just want to say a MASSIVE thank you to everyone who contributed.  The competition to be the winning house team has been fiercely fought by Faith, Hope, Charity and Patience.  The winning team will be announced on the 3rd November, in our first assembly after half-term.

Again, we want to say thank you, thank you, thank you.

We give so that others have.

Your generosity has been amazing; we collected over 500 items of food.

Also, a HUGE thank you to the faith team for organising this.

    Hebrews 13:16

Do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

    This week's story:

The UK government is planning to bring in digital identity cards, which people could keep on their smartphones or have as a physical card.

    The big question is:

Should everyone have an identity card?

    What do you think?

Enjoy a discussion with your child/ren around this issue.

It will be a great opportunity to buy books for birthday presents and even get ahead for Christmas!

Five pupils will be able to win £5 vouchers, to spend at the fair, via in school competition.

They will also be able to browse all of the books (on Monday 3rd November) and decide which ones they like best BUT most of all the more you spend, the more books the school will get for free - yippee !!!

    Tue 14 Oct 2025

Today, we had our first set of financial literacy workshops, with the HSBC bank.

Each class was able to explore things like what is a bank, budgeting, inflation, coins/cash, and spending/saving, with our amazing workshop lead - Becky.

The children had lots of fun, whilst learning lifelong skills.

Becky will be with us again, in the Summer Term.

  • Mental Health and Wellbeing Day (MHaW)

    Fri 10 Oct 2025

Our 1st MHaW Day, for 2025 - 2026 has been an absolutely success.

To start the day, we had an assembly, with the calming

    melodies of the Birmingham Conservatoire

    playing the piano and clarinet.

Our theme was It's Good To Talk.

As part of the assembly, we did some colour breathing.

Children could then stop and chat to our mental health and

    wellbeing mini-champions, at break time.

They had hi-vis jackets on and were available for 20-minutes of talk time.

Finally, we had a film and food afternoon in hall.

The whole school watched Matilda together.

    What a schmazing day!

Our motto, at CC, is everyone has mental health, so let's take care of it.

If you need any help or support, Ms Adams is the Mental Health and Wellbeing Lead, please call the office or catch her on the playground.

  • Parent Phonic Workshop

    Wed 08 Oct 2025

Thank you to all the parents who attended our Phonics Workshop for Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.  The hall was so full we needed another table and extra chairs.

You were all engaged and asked some fantastic questions, at the end.

It is wonderful to be working together to ensure our children become

    great readers, writers and spellers.

Big thank you to Mrs Khan and Mrs Bagom for modelling aspects of a Sounds-Write lesson.
