  • Interfaith Poetry Winner

    Tue 25 Nov 2025

Hajrah (in Year 6) is the winner of the Interfaith Poetry Competition.  Her poem on community was beautifully written.  She received a gift of a book of poems about nature.

Well done to all of those who entered.  Their entries will be displayed in the Gallery of Excellence.

    Enjoy her poem!

    It Is Community

In a world that’s forever spinning fast,

Where strangers meet and dreams collide,

There’s something strong, that holds us near,

A gentle voice, we can all hear.

It hums in halls and sings in streets,

It smiles through every face it meets.

It’s found in hands, that lift, not break,

In the love we give, not what we take,

It caresses hearts and burns out hate,

It preaches inclusivity and puts diversity on every plate.

    It’s glorious.

    It’s giving.

    It’s powerful.

    It’s pure.

    It is community.

  • Empathy in Action Week at CC.

    Mon 24 Nov 2025

Empathy in Action Week is a chance for children to develop and exercise their empathy muscles.  Empathy is the skill of not only feeling and thinking like others, to understand but it is also about taking action.

Every class at CC, has a social action project to engage.  They will walk in someone's else's shoes, whilst also doing something about it.

A great way to develop empathy is through books.  They open up a gateway into the character's lives and this is a perfect opportunity to feel and think from someone else's perspective,

    Enjoy Empathy in Action Week!

  • Interfaith Week

    Wed 12 Nov 2025

We have had an amazing interfaith week at CC, so far.

Each class from Reception to Y6 has visited a place of worship.

They have all focused on theme of Community - Together we Serve and are preparing to present to each other on Friday.

We also had a special guest for our Music and Faith Assembly.

Finally, the whole school went to visit our parish church - Christ Church to engage with an assembly led by Revd Toby.

KS2 are also entering this years' Interfaith Week poetry competition.

We are hoping for a winner (from our school) and the best entries will be displayed on our Corridor of Excellence.

    What a special week!

A chance to develop respect for and an appreciation of different religions.

    Enjoy the pictures!

    Tue 04 Nov 2025

This week's story: An animal charity, called Redwings Horse Sanctuary, has asked the government to make fireworks quieter to help protect animals and people.

Question: Should fireworks be changed so we protect animals and people at the same time?

Take time to discuss this question at home.

    Share your thoughts and opinions.

    Happy chatting!
